Stampin' Up! recently offered these two tools to Demonstrators.  The top one is a ribbon sampler and the bottom is a designer series paper (DSP) sampler.  Each holds a sample of each product from the catalog. 

Both of these tools are not only useful to make purchasing decisions, they are also beautiful eye candy!  How cool to feel, see and even match ribbons to paper.

Yummmmmmmm.... Cupcakes!

For today's Kreation, I participated in a SCS sketch challenge (SC200) and color challenge (CC189) from last week.  Playing catch up a bit after working on my son's birthday invitations and goody bags. 

These colors just scream Neapolitan ice cream to me.  Which would go perfectly with these yummy Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip cupcakes.  These little cakes are from the "Party Hearty" stamp set. 

The base of the card is done in Pink Pirouette - one of Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors.  Layered on top are two prints from the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper (DSP) collection. 

I quickly stamped each cupcake and punched them out using Stampin' Up!'s square punch, then rounded each corner.  I also used a punch for the tag that each cupcake is mounted to. 

For an added punch.... I rounded the bottom corners of the large tag as well.

Simple (Pocket) Silhouettes

Just a simple card to share with you today.

The card base is Kraft cardstock and accented with three Curly Label punched images.  The stamp sets used on this card are "Pocket Silhouettes" and "Cute & Curly" (sentiment in the middle). 

I paper pierced some dotted lines to add some interest to the basic layout.

It's been a busy weekend and busy Monday for me - but, I'll be back with more to share tomorrow.

HB2U! = Happy Birthday to You! 

Per the norm with me, I started this card out by selecting my colors.  When I was so graciously given these three FABULOUS colors of ribbon (thanks Aunt Mary) ... they were all pooled in a pretty pile. 

That was all the inspiration I needed to combine Sage Shadow, Rose Red, and Chocolate Chip.  I have been itching to use the "Crazy for Cupcakes" stamp set and last night was finally the right time to break it out. 

The details of this card are pretty self-explanatory. 

However, I do want to point out one thing ... and that is the sentiment.  Using the Happy Birthday to You curved sentiment, I decided to duplicate the arch to create a full circle.  I stamped the mage in Rose Red, then used the Stamp-a-ma-jig (a must have tool) to line up the second, Chocolate Chip mirror image. 

Coincidentally, this created a perfect circle that I was able to punch out using my 1 3/8" circle punch.  I then punched out a 1" circle in Chocolate Chip, and a 3/4" circle in Rose Red to layer in the middle of the sentiment. 

And there you have it... a custom brad of sorts was created!  The ribbon weaving is a new technique for me, and while striking - my favorite part is the custom made sentiment.

Today I am sharing a 3” x 3” card set that I created – all based around Kraft cardstock (see below).  Rather than explain the details, I am just going to share the photos.  Today, I wanted to open up my blog for discussion.

Bundle of Joy!

Today’s Kreation is a Bundle of Joy! 

 

Using the bright joyous new In Colors – Tangerine Tango & Pacific Point, I created a happy baby card. 

I started this card using a base of Pacific Point.  To the base, I added a card front using a piece of Tangerine Tango and a piece of the Sweet Always designer series paper. 

 

On the flip side of this floral pattern is a Chocolate Chip background, with white, Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette polka dots (see photo below and more details on page 171 in the Fall/Winter Idea Book & Catalog).

Using a Hostess Level I set – called "Punches Three", I inked the Little Bundle of Joy stamp in Tangerine Tango. This set fits this card perfectly, as I used three punches to create this card.  1)  Wide Oval Punch  2)  Curly Label Punch  3)  Ticket Corner Punch. 

 

I popped this image out using the new wide oval punch.  I also inked the image in Pacific Point and carefully trimmed out the center, then mounted it atop two Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Beneath the stamped image, you’ll notice a “frame” of Pacific Point peeking out on the top and bottom.  I created this by punching out some textured Pacific Point cardstock using the new Curly Label punch (see photo below and more details on page 189; sold in a bundle).  I sliced the punched out image in half and mounted each half to the top and bottom of my Bundle of Joy image.

 

The 5/8” striped grosgrain ribbon in Pacific Point, give this card a nice finishing touch.  You’ll also notice four brads from the Fire & Ice collection sitting in each corner. 

 

I feel this card is strong enough for a bouncing baby boy, yet gentle enough for a baby girl. 

For a Woof-fect Woman

This card was created for the Color Challenge (CC180) at Splitcoastampers.com.  The challenge was to use Ruby Red, Blush Blossom and Close to Cocoa.

I actually started this card using a completely different stamp set , "Crazy for Cupkakes" and I just could not get the combo to work for me.  After struggling with that for about 20 minutes, I quickly switched focus, dug through my stamp sets and found these cute little dogs.  They are from the "Loads of Love Accessories" stamp set. 

I stamped the pups in Close to Cocoa ink, then popped them out using Stampin' Up!'s small oval punch.  I then inked up the "Cute & Curly" stamp set (that comes in a bundle with the new curvy label punch) also in Close to Cocoa.  This image got punched out and mounted on four Stampin' Dimensionals. 

The designer series paper you see is Berry Bliss and now retired.  But I had a few pieces left and thought it worked perfectly for this challenge and Kreation.  A strip of Blush Blossom cardstock got two long holes with the horizontal slit punch, then was threaded with some Kraft Taffeta ribbon. 

Final touches on the card are the sentiment from Hostess Level I set "Best Yet" and three tiny adhesive pearls.  The base of the card is Ruby Red card stock. 

This card will be given to my Mom - a strong woman who could use these little puppies right now.  She's a dog fanatic so this card is purr-fect for her.  Or should I say woof-fect?? ... sorry, I'm more of a cat lover!  :)

Red Velvet Wishes

Raise your hand if you love cupcakes!

For today’s Kreation, I participated in the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge (IC136)

If you visit Cupcakes of Vancouver, you’ll see the Red Velvet cupcake I chose as my inspiration.  It’s a red cocoa cake topped with a cream cheese frosting and dusted with white sugar. 

To translate that sugary goodness onto paper, I used my Chocolate Chip classic Stampin’ Ink Pad on Riding Hood Red card stock (new In Color available for purchase August 11).

I inked up the little cupcake from the new “Sock Monkey” stamp set and very carefully trimmed it out.  The frosting is stamped on Very Vanilla card stock, then covered in versamark and sparkly sprinkles (Hologram Highlight embossing powder), and finally set using my Stampin’ Up! heat tool.

To create the focal point, I punched out a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock using my tab punch, mounted a 1 ¼” punched circle, then popped up a 1” circle of Very Vanilla using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Designer Series Paper I used for the bottom portion of the card is from the Hostess Level III bundle, called Holiday Happenings.  It’s Chocolate Chip with little Pink Pirouette polka dots.  Finally, the top edge of the Kraft colored card base got the new scallop border punch treatment.  This new tool is definitely a “must have”... 

The sentiment is from the soon to be released "Heard from the Heart" stamp set and is also inked in Chocolate Chip.

"One Word Wonder" Card Set Recipe:  I Started with Stampin’ Up! notecards, size 3 1/5 x 5 for the card base.  Each stamp was centered using the Stamp-a-ma-jig (a necessity for proper alignment - tutorial found here).  The sentiments and other Chocolate Chip graphics are “Seasonal Sayings Rub-On’s”.  I wanted to use simple one word sentiments that were in all capital letters.

I coordinated the new In Color cardstock with the new In Color classic ink pads.  The colors used are:  Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, and Riding Hood Red.  The main panel is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals and a mini rhinestone is added to each card for a bit of bling.

These look so much bolder in person (the  photos do not do them justice), I love the new In Colors (get a sneak peek of all colors by clicking here).
