Halloween is coming and this year I want to celebrate well in advance. 

I kicked off my celebration with a spooky project.  This adorable little box holds a 1 fluid ounce bottle of anti bacterial pocket gels from Bath & Body Works. 

The scents I purchased are:  Zombie Squad Marshmallow, Candy Corn Caramel, Vampire Blood Plum, and Bat Bite Apple.  SO FUN!!

Sympathy Set

Sadly, my husband's Aunt passed away on the day of my Mom's memorial services.  

Sympathy cards are not cards I keep "on hand".  So, I decided to use the Vintage Vogue and Teeny Tiny Wishes sets to create a simple set of cards to send out to family during this difficult time.  Using Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry & Old Olive, I randomly stamped the floral images.

One fun thing about Stampin' Up!'s new clearmount stamp sets is that you can put multiple images on one clear block.  I put both the large and small flower on clear block D, which allowed me to quickly create this set of cards.

• This week's challenge is a K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie)

What exactly is a K.I.S.S creation?

One that is clean with lots of 'white' space, simple in design, takes a short amount of time to create, and has limited layers & embellishments.  I categorize these cards as Kwik & Kool on my website.

For my K.I.S.S. submission I created small favors for my Thanksgiving table.  These were created using the Two Tags die, Trendy Trees & Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets and Fresh Favorites I buttons.

 

Inside each Autumn Meadows wrapped treat is an Andes mint, perfect for after dinner.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family & friends.  This year is a special one for me as I host my family at our home.  My Mom is venturing out today to come enjoy the big meal and of course, my Step-Dad, my Dad, Brother, Sister-in-Law and their 3 kids will be right here too.

I am extremely grateful to have my family all in one spot this year.

Pals Paper Arts (PPA1)

Pals Paper Arts went live today and I'm thrilled to be including you in our big reveal!

What exactly is Pals Paper Arts?  A brand new blog dedicated to using Stampin' Up! products designed to encourage reader participation. 

Every Thursday morning (5 am CST) we'll offer up a new challenge and ask you to play along with us!

You'll be able to upload your very own creation via Mr. Linky.  A team of judges will view all cards submitted and choose 3 lucky winners.  These winners will be deemed a Paper Artist Pick - and if you are one of them, you'll be invited to wear our fun Paper Artist Pick badge on your own blog! 

So, are you ready to join us and say "I Love to Play @ PPA"?

The rules are simple:

• Create using the colors listed above (or similar colors)
  
• Upload your card to Pals Paper Arts by Tuesday, August 4 (Noon CST)
  
• If you upload to an online gallery, enter PPA1 in the keyword section

I came up with three versions of my card before choosing which card to share at Pals Paper Arts.  I'm a fan of what I call Kwik & Kool cards and all three of my cards fit into that category.

The flower you see on these cards was a new technique for me.  It is simply cardstock punched out, balled up into my hand, then smoothed out (just a tad). 

• I piled up the punched out pieces adhering each layer to the next and my flower began to bloom. 
• The top two layers are secured with a Chocolate Chip corduroy button and is perched atop two Stampin' Dimensionals.
