Simple Soft Suede card to share with you today.

I created this card with Razzle Dazzle and Oval All (for the sentiment) stamp sets.  I wanted to make a softer looking card using this new In Color.

Pink Flamingo Picnic

Pink Flamingo designer series paper (DSP) made the cut and is in the 2009 - 2010 Idea Book & Catalog!  Woo-Hoo!

Yesterday afternoon I had some time to play, so I broke out Lauren Meader's Pack a Picnic Template.  I made these two adorable baskets using Kraft cardstock,  Tempting Turquoise cardstock, and Pink Flamingo DSP.

My son goes to Kindergarten in the Fall.  These picnic baskets would make the perfect packaging to house a small thank you gift for his daycare teacher. 

Making projects like these is something I really enjoy.  I LOVE being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator because it allows me to support my stamping and scrapbooking hobby.

Teacher Appreciation

May 3 - 9 is Teacher Appreciation week ... It's my son's last year in daycare.  In the Fall, he will run with the big boys in Kindergarten.  How time flies! 

I made this card set for my son's Pre-K teacher.  She goes by Ms. Cindy - thus the reason for the chipboard C on the front.

A while back, I bought my first Timeless Template from Lauren Meader.  These templates are a fabulous deal - at only $5.00 a pop, you get the full template along with several design ideas.  This particular template is called "From the Desk Of", the design ideas are limited only by your imagination.

It's been a little over a month since I've been able to stamp.  Early April we moved, and then mid April my Dad had a motorcycle accident.  So, I've been taking care of him daily since then ... but I finally found a bit of "me" time last night.

Fast post today ... we are still in the process of packing. 

Last night I finally had to cave and pack up my beloved stamping area.  So, I don't know how much I'll have to share over the next few days.  :(

But I hope you'll stick with me and keep coming back to check on me!

I just purchased this Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper.  I have been eyeing it up since the new catalog was released.  I finally caved in and ordered it and I am SO HAPPY I did.  I love the bright colors and fun prints.

The fabulous friend sentiment is from the soon-to-be-released Oval All stamp set.  This set is in the Occasions Mini Catalog - due for release April 1st.  NOTE:  The Oval All stamps work with the oval punch, however, I was able to ink up just the sentiment  using my Stampin' Write Tempting Turquoise marker and punch it out with my 1" circle punch.

For a Pre-Teen

My step-son, Robert, is turning 12 on March 25th ... and I thought the Rockabilly DSP would match his style perfectly (click photo to enlarge, you can see the DSP much better this way).

He is a big fan of Tony Hawk brand clothing - which features skulls, crossbones, and skater images throughout the collection.

Just a note:  There is a reason for the short post - I am in the process of moving.  So, I may be a bit scarce over the next few weeks. 

This weekend is the final move, however, there is a lot (and I mean A LOT) of cleaning, organizing, and then resting to do.

Bella Bleu to the Rescue!

when you least expect it ...
something good happens

In this case, I just didn't feel up to stamping.  I had a rough day at work and I was just flat out, beat down, mentally and physically exhausted. 

I decided to stamp - and almost gave up after inking some other images (that ended up in the trash bin).  But, then something clicked and I went "back to basics".  Sometimes I get caught up in the layers of a card or the embellishments - fancy brads or new ribbon, etc...

BIG TIP:  Sometimes the basics are best.

BIGGER TIP:  Stamping is good therapy.

I just ordered this Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper (DSP) and really wasn't quite sure what the heck I was going to do with it.  In comes Kraft paper, my Knight in Shining Armour.  LOL!  If you follow my blog, you may have seen that I love, love, love Kraft paper. 

Bella Bleu DSP coordinates with Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, and best of all Kraft!!  You get 12 sheets per package - 2 each of 6 designs.  In all reality there are 12 designs, because Stampin' Up! DSP is double sided.  More bang for the buck!

So, not to toot my own horn here (ok, just a little toot), I REALLY love the way these cards turned out (see individual card photos in My Kreations Gallery).  They were Kwik & Kool - requiring little time, effort and supplies. 

A perfect ending to my not-so-perfect day.

 

Pizzazz for You

Here is your second glimpse into the Occasions Mini Catalog - which will be released April 1.  The sentiment, Just For You is part of the Oval All stamp set that you'll see in the mini.

There are four sentiments in all that coordinate with the large oval punch (found on page 184 of the Spring-Summer Idea Book & Catalog, item #107305 $15.95).

I highly recommend adding the large oval punch to your wish list, if you don't already own it.  Why??  Because you are going to want the Oval All set and the coordinating Scallop Oval Punch (both for sale April 1).

The Designer Series Paper I used is from the Urban Oasis Collection, and the Pixie Pink flower is from the set called Petal Pizzazz (page 90, item #113417 $32.95).  LOVE IT and can't wait to get more time with this set.
