Have you seen all of the entries for our challenges? I encourage you to take a peek if you haven't already ... I am personally overwhelmed with the amount of talent out there.
A BIG thank you to everyone who has already played in our first two challenges. It is an honor to have you join me and the design team each week.
You may be asking ... what exactly is Pals Paper Arts? Well, it's a fairly new blog dedicated to using Stampin' Up! products designed to encourage reader participation. NOTE: You do not have to use Stampin' Up! only to join in the fun.
Every Thursday morning (5 am CST) we'll offer up a new challenge and ask you to play along with us!
1) Create a card or project using the photo shown at the left as your inspiration
2) Upload your card to Pals Paper Arts by Tuesday, August 18 (Noon CST)
3) If you upload to an online gallery, enter PPA3 in the keyword section
4) Most importantly ... play, play, play!
You'll notice that I very closely mimicked this idea in my card for today. I thought this would be a perfect first day of Kindergarten card for my little guy. Can't believe the time how quickly time flies! I never knew what my parents meant when they said that until having my own child. I think I have become my Mother ... which is a very good thing, I might add.
I used basic black for my card base, then inked up the large image from the set From the Kitchen Of to create my journaling lines. This was then heat embossed with white stampin' emboss powder (same goes for the little guy stamped in the middle of a metal tag).
That little guy is from the All in the Family stamp set. Isn't he adorable? A few circle punches from the Bold Brights family get in line along the left side. A Summer Sun corduroy brad is attached simply to add more texture. Oh and we can't forget one of my new favorite touches - adding a spiral border using the spiral punch.
