Playing @ PPA!

Today is my first time playing in a Pals Paper Arts Challenge.

While, I was previously on the Design Team - I chose to take a step back to re-focus some energy into my family.  However, I couldn't wait to Play @ PPA today.  I also took the opportunity to play at Stampin' Royalty in their very first challenge.

This card is for my Mom ... whose birthday is TODAY.  Happy Birthday, Mom - we love you!

A Tisket, A Tasket...

I found my Valentine's Day baskets.

Last year around this time, I found these metal heart shaped baskets (pictured left) at Target.  They were very inexpensive and I have one in red, too!  I completely forgot that these were hiding out in my craft closet.

Score! 

Last night I managed to whip up some last minute Valentine's Day gifts.  The little Top Note treat toppers are for my son's teachers.  Those cute little flower chipboard pieces you see are from the On Board So Tweet collection.

TIP:  Use a sponge dauber and ink up the chipboard to create custom made pieces.  Look closely and you'll see that the round piece is inked in Riding Hood Red.  Perfectly coordinated!

The acetate box (pictured right) is for a friend/co-worker.  Open the box and you'll find another Top Note treat topper and inside the small cello bag are yummy M&M's. 

I used the Scallop Envelope Big Shot die to make my mini card, that slides in perfectly beneath the wide striped Riding Hood Red & Very Vanilla ribbon.

Love & (Kiwi) Kisses

Here is my first card for World Card Making Day's SCS Challenge, titled Love & (Kiwi) Kisses.  The first challenge was to create a card based on a sketch.  See the sketch and other challenges by clicking here.

I also participated in today's SCS Inspiration Challenge (IC148). 

I drew my inspiration for the card's colors from this shirt.  Absolutely love the bright green and white against the black. 

The stamp set I used is called "A Happy Heart" from the newly released Holiday Mini Catalog.  See my other Kreations using this set, here.

Power of Pink

Pink is a very powerful color in my world. 

Two years ago (August 2006), my Mom was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer.  I, of course, knew about cancer "back then", but had never heard of this type of breast cancer. 

When it hits your world - your family - your best friend ... you are shaken to the core.  And while I may not have done much in the past to support finding a cure...  I was  suddenly compelled to help find one!

So, as of August 2006, I have thrown myself into finding a cure & researching breast cancer - all types and stages (for men & women). 

I started a team, called Paint the Town Pink to raise funds for Passionately Pink for the Cure as well as Race for the Cure (both events support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation)

More recently, my Mom has received news about the cancer spreading (and while I won't go into details here) I'll just say that it's a true wake up call to life.

Sneak Peek #3

I'd like to share another sneak peek from the Holiday Mini catalog with you.  This card uses the soon to be released "A Happy Heart" stamp set. 

Yesterday, I showed this set for the first time through another Kreation.  If you view the previous post, you'll see what images are included in "A Happy Heart". 

For this card, I started with Kraft cardstock.  I love Stampin' Up!'s Kraft ... it's so versatile and easy to work with.  The print on the lower half of the card is from the designer series paper set "Sweet Always".  The top portion is done in Pink Pirouette and the image is inked in Chocolate Chip classic ink. 

To tie things off (pun intended) I used some taffeta Chocolate Chip ribbon.  This card falls into my Kwik & Kool category.  This is an easy layout, required very little stamping, but yet packs a WOW factor.

Another sneak peek

I have been promising more sneak peeks into the Holiday Mini catalog (release date October 1) ... and here's another.

Last night I sat down to come up with a Kreation using the soon to be released "A Happy Heart Day" stamp set (see images below). 

I started this card by inking the image in Tangerine Tango.  I also inked the image in Baja Breeze so I could punch out the middle heart. 


You will also see a glimpse into the new Ski Slope Designer Series Paper.  It is a pattern in the Baja Breeze color.

I really love the new Baja Breeze In Color and wanted to use a contrasting color, so I went with Tangerine Tango.

Today, I am going to my Aunt's house for a mini stamping marathon.  I will have more creations (from both the Fall/Winter and Holiday MIni catalogs) to share with you throughout the week.
