Today is Christmas Eve and I am spending quality time with my family.  I hope you are doing something enjoyable with your family, friends or even getting some quality "me" time.

This card was created for my Step-Daughter's 14th Birthday.  I really like how the paper piercing turned out.

The card I created for today's challenge was so incredibly easy!

Card Details

• Trim designer paper (I used Christmas Cocoa specialty) to 4" x 5 1/4"
  
• Adhere piece of ribbon across the top (I used Soft Suede Polka Dot)
  
• Stamp your sentiment directly on the designer paper in Soft Suede Classic Ink
  
• Finish off with a button in the center of the snowflake.  I threaded a piece of golden ribbon through my button.
• Adhere designer paper to card stock
  
• Done!

Speaking of a winter wonderland ... here are photos of our front yard and driveway.  Last week we received over 18" of snow - this is what we woke up to in the morning!!

My submission to the design team this week is a simple one. 

Using the stamp set, Winter Post, I created a graphic & bold 5" x 5" card. 

Card Details

• Trim Kraft card stock to 10" x 5", score down the middle
• Adhere a 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" piece of designer paper to the Kraft base - (I used Merry Moments designer paper on my card)
  
• Stamp your images on 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" squares
• Trim colored mats to 1 3/4" x 1 3/4"
  
• Adhere stamped images to colored mats using Stampin' Dimensionals
• Add a bit of shine or bling with a brad on one square
  
• Place each square on top of the designer paper
• Done!

For my design team submission, I used My Digital Studio to create a card based on the color scheme found in the inspiration photo.

See that badge in the upper right corner of my blog?  I am now officially a certified user of My Digital Studio!  This means, I am equipped to help guide you with any questions you may have regarding this awesome software.

Using all digital products I created this fun vintage card. 

Only after I was done creating did I realize that both my card and inspiration piece contained mistletoe!  Bonus!

My recent holiday creations are certainly getting me in the mood to Christmas shop.  I have picked up a few gifts for friends, but haven't even started on family yet.

• This week's challenge is a K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie)

What exactly is a K.I.S.S creation?

One that is clean with lots of 'white' space, simple in design, takes a short amount of time to create, and has limited layers & embellishments.  I categorize these cards as Kwik & Kool on my website.

For my K.I.S.S. submission I created small favors for my Thanksgiving table.  These were created using the Two Tags die, Trendy Trees & Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets and Fresh Favorites I buttons.

 

Inside each Autumn Meadows wrapped treat is an Andes mint, perfect for after dinner.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family & friends.  This year is a special one for me as I host my family at our home.  My Mom is venturing out today to come enjoy the big meal and of course, my Step-Dad, my Dad, Brother, Sister-in-Law and their 3 kids will be right here too.

I am extremely grateful to have my family all in one spot this year.

You'll notice that I flipped the sketch on it's side for my creation.  I also substituted square images for round ones.

Using the Love Me designer paper (currently found on the clearance rack for only $3.99) I created a non-traditional holiday card.  I have been dying to use this color combination for weeks now and I am so happy I finally got the chance to try it out.

I'm sure you'll see it around here again before the holidays are over.  I envision using the hostess level 1 set, Patterned Pines with this color combo.

Picture these pines in yummy colors such as Pretty in Pink, Taken with Teal, and Close to Cocoa.  Oh, I can't wait!  I've already made a card with these trees in Basic Black, if you missed it, check it out here.

On my PPA submission I used the set called Sweet Season and omitted parts of an image using my Stampin' Write markers.  The result ... 3 adorable holiday houses.

My submission for the design team inspiration is a simple set of Christmas Cards.  Using the theme, Christmas Cheer, I was quickly drawn to the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper.  

There is no way to do this paper justice without seeing it in person.  You get flocked designs along with metallic accented paper. 

It is GORGEOUS!!

Now, onto the cards... I am loving the simplicity of this set.  I used the layout found at  the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.  If you follow my blog, you may notice that I am a HUGE fan of clean & simple cards. 

 

The holiday's are typically a very busy time of year for my family.  But this year, my goal is to slow down, take it all in, and enjoy the Christmas cheer with loved ones.  With my Mom's cancer and my Dad going to Iraq in January - it's going to be a bittersweet holiday.

Pals Paper Arts (PPA14)

Pals Paper Arts challenge #14 is close to my heart. 

This week we'll be "In the Pink" in honor of breast cancer awareness month.  For me, this challenge is dedicated to my Mom who is battling metastatic breast cancer.

This card set was created using the Ribbon of Hope and Hope Happens stamp sets.  

The silver skinny tin houses all 4 cards and coordinating envelopes perfectly.  I used the whisper white note cards and envelopes for my card set.  They are a bit smaller than the average card - sized at 5" x 3 1/2" folded.
