OK, this is where the scrapbooking gets tough.  

The stars of these pages are my Mom and my brother, Dustin. While these moments captured are all happy - knowing my Mom is gone brings such sadness.  I am grateful to have these photographs and even more so, her very own words preserved forever (in the journaling above).

Using My Digital Studio is not only fun - it has provided some great "therapy" if you will.  For months after my Mom passed away (many months), I was not able to even look at a photo of my Mom. 

Being able to scrapbook photos of her and more importantly, SHARE the finished product brings some closure.  What does scrapbooking do for you?  Provide stress relief ... give you some "me time" ...  I'd love to hear about your creative process.  Please leave me a comment below!

CASE a Card

Hi there!  Long time, no blogging ... 

I've been in a bit of stamping slump lately, so I decided to CASE (copy and share for everyone) a card I found online (created by Carrie Gaskin, the Artistic Avenger - love her work!).  When I get into a slump, I find that CASE'ing gets me back into the swing of things.

A good friend of mine recently went through a major surgery and I wanted to send some heartfelt wishes in the form of a handmade card.  This card fit the bill perfectly.

I am loving the way this turned out, gorgeous colors, fun layout and use of many different punches.  It may be hard to see, but I even used the Lots of Love letterpress plate on my Sahara Sand background.

So, what do you think?  Stamping this card inspired me to make a few more... I hope to share those with you very soon.

Apple Love for a Teacher

I created these cute little heart apples with the help of my heart-to-heart punch and the Tart & Tangy stamp set.

This card and gift below are for Valentine's Day for my son's first grade teacher.

To keep the "teacher feel" of this card, I used colors that remind me of school.  I wanted to use the apple from Tart & Tangy, but had a lightbulb moment when I thought of turning them into hearts.  

I'm really happy with the way this gift set turned out.  Also included is small pail (not pictured) covered with tiny red apples and filled with valentine's candy.

I {heart} Playing with the PPA

I found some time to stamp today.  Hooray!

This card was made for the Pals Paper Arts challenge (PPA78).

Paper Pieced Girl

Have you ever thought of paper piecing with line art stamp images?

That's just what I did here using the Greeting Card Kids stamp set by Stampin' Up!  I'm not much of a watercoloring artist, but I say with confidence "I know how to cut!"  

My little girl is donning an outfit from the Pawsitively Prints II designer series paper collection.  How fun!

Long time ... no see!

I haven't posted in quite some time - but that's because I haven't stamped in a while either. 

This card set was created for my little guy, Devlin.  My husband & I got away to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving break and when I'm away for an extended period of time, I always make a card a day for Devlin.

This card set was created with the Fox & Friends and Got Treats stamp sets.  What makes these cards extra special is that Devlin treasures them and keeps every last one in his room (he's only 7 and already so sentimental - he's a keeper!)

Cards for my Cutie

When I'm out of town for more than a few days, I like to leave a little something behind for my baby boy, Devlin. 

(Confession: He's not a baby - he's 6, almost 7)

Today I am on my way to Stampin' Up!'s Convention.  While I'm VERY excited to be making the trip, it's hard to be away from Devlin.

So, to ease the "missing Mommy" feelings, I made him a card for each day that I'll be away.  I did the same thing when I went to Convention last year (my 1st Convention).  You can see those cards here.  

It's nearly 1 year later and Devlin still has the cards in his bedroom.  Every time I try to throw them away, he begs me to keep them on his bulletin board.  I am so lucky to have such a sweet little man in my life. 

Now, on to the cards ... I used the adorable & irresistible hostess level II stamp set called Long Fellows.  There are 6 images in this stamp set and you can see each one below.  CUTE!!

Most of All, You

With a steady hand and a stamp-a-ma-jig, I created this fun card.

Well, I really only used the stamp-a-ma-jig on the lower right image (beneath the heart).  I CASE'd this cute card, that you'll see on page 60 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.
