Just sharing a simple gift packaging idea with you today.

I cut out a piece of designer series paper to adorn the lid of this little gift box.  It added a festive feel and I topped it off with some pretty ribbon and a stamped image from the Holiday Best - hostess stamp set.

Inside is a sparkly apple ornament for my son's Kindergarten teacher.  I wish I took a photo of it - it's so pretty!  You'll just have to use your imagination and ooh and aah with me.

Sometimes all it takes is adding pretty paper, a little ink to make a gift "extra special". I hope she likes it!

Pals Paper Arts (PPA17)

You'll notice that I flipped the sketch on it's side for my creation.  I also substituted square images for round ones.

Using the Love Me designer paper (currently found on the clearance rack for only $3.99) I created a non-traditional holiday card.  I have been dying to use this color combination for weeks now and I am so happy I finally got the chance to try it out.

I'm sure you'll see it around here again before the holidays are over.  I envision using the hostess level 1 set, Patterned Pines with this color combo.

Picture these pines in yummy colors such as Pretty in Pink, Taken with Teal, and Close to Cocoa.  Oh, I can't wait!  I've already made a card with these trees in Basic Black, if you missed it, check it out here.

On my PPA submission I used the set called Sweet Season and omitted parts of an image using my Stampin' Write markers.  The result ... 3 adorable holiday houses.

I created two projects using the colors in our challenge.

Walk Down Memory Lane

This My Digital Studio page is a walk down memory lane for me. 

It contains photos of myself and my husband from about 6 years ago.  A lot has changed since the day we met ... but the sentiment still rings true.

Check this out.  Here is a snapshot of the pre-designed template I used for my page.

Notice, I did not change much to create my final page.  With a few simple clicks, I added photos, created drop shadows on my elements (including the photos) and replaced the sentiment. 

From start to finish, this page took me 10 minutes!  I have created more scrapbook pages in the last month than I have in the last 6 years.

Her Favorite Things

Here is the sister page to my page titled "His Favorite Things" that was posted yesterday.

You will notice that the layout and colors are nearly identical.  However, I changed the borders along the side, using a more feminine border for my page and more masculine for my husband's page.

Duplicating these pages was a breeze with My Digital Studio.  All I had to do was click, copy, & paste.  Then I replaced the photos, arranged my stamps and I was done!

So incredibly easy and fun.  I absolutely love the end result and cannot wait to finish my book.  You'll see more pages in my upcoming posts.

Cool, Curry, Christmas

Confession:  When I made this card - I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. 

But, the more I look at it, the more I like it.  Receiving lots of encouraging comments on Splitcoaststampers helped too!  :)

The SCS color combo challenge this week was Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry & Basic Black.

Very interesting ... don't you think? 

Looking at the colors to the left now make me think Halloween.

But when I sat down to create, I had full intentions of making a Christmas card using these colors.  I love all things modern, as I'm sure you've read here before. 

This card screams modern from the use of white space, non-traditional holiday colors - right on down to the black Christmas trees.  Yes, I said black trees.  

The tree stamp set is called Patterned Pines and can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It is a Hostess Level I stamp set - which means, you cannot buy it ... BUT you can earn it.

My "Enjoy the Little Things" scrapbook page was created using My Digital Studio (MDS), page size 8" x 8". 

Speaking of enjoying the little things, I cannot tell you how much fun I've had playing with MDS!!  Even though I don't own some of the stamp sets in rubber form, I can create with them digitally.

For example, I do not own the stamp set "Enjoy Every Moment" (images shown at end of post).  However, this stamp set IS included in MDS, so I was able to use it on my page.

I think that is SO incredibly cool!!

I am also enjoying using items that ARE included in MDS but are NOT found in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog!

For example, see that 1/4" grosgrain ribbon you see running across my page?  Well, you can't buy More Mustard or Really Rust grosgrain ribbon in the Idea Book & Catalog.  BUT you can use it digitally.  Now, come on - how seriously cool is that?

I'm loving Stampin' Up!'s new format - My Digital Studio - and hope that you've enjoyed seeing my samples so far.
