My baby boy Devlin (who is 5), is graduating from Pre-K tonight.  I'm so proud of him - he's such a well behaved kid.  While it's just a simple ceremony, I still wanted to make the night special for him.

Grandma & Grandpa will be coming to watch him graduate, and then we'll take him to his favorite restaurant for dinner.  McDonald's!  LOL!  Inside this gift card holder lies a $15.00 gift card to Toys R Us, he is going to be so excited to have his own money to spend.

Previously, I made him this gift card holder, however - the little bugger snooped around my craft room and found it.  So, I disassembled it and re-made another gift card holder using the new Lots of Bots stamp set.

I went very simple this time around - wanted to show off that little heart on the front of the robot.  Devlin loves the color red (just like his Mommy) so I focused on making it as red as possible.

Rock Stars

As the end of the school year approaches, I wanted to recognize some special rock stars (kids) in my life. 

I made these cards for my nephews who are 5 and 7 years old.  Inside I will put a small treat of some sort - maybe some special stickers or a $5.00 gift card.  That part hasn't been decided yet.

With the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog coming out on July 1st, I've been reorganizing my stamping supplies.  After sorting through my personal stash - I've realized that my paper hoarding has reached a new level.  LOL!

What better way to break the habit of hoarding - than to start using the supplies! 

I found a really simple layout and used it on both of these cards.  I wanted to keep the cards basic but still fun, considering the age of the recipients.  I think they'll both love these rockin' papers and lined envelopes.

Each card uses the Rockabilly Designer Paper which is part of the last chance list.

Ronald McDonald Provides More Than a Happy Meal

The stamp set I used here is called "Say It with Scallops".

I made this gift card holder by CASE'ing Allison over at Sweet Impressions.  She even provided an easy to follow tutorial, so be sure to check it out!

With the end of the school year approaching - keep this project in mine for grads you know.  You don't necessarily need to own a "graduation" stamp set.  TIP:  Improvise like I did, by using a Congrats stamp instead.  This project is easy to customize - simply vary the colors you use. 

I am sure you'll see a few more variations from me soon.  I have a cousin graduating high school and my little guy (Devlin) will be graduating from Pre-K.

Little Brother

This card is for my little brother - OK, not so little anymore - so I should say younger brother.  He's in his late 20's... LOL!  His birthday is coming up on Friday March 27th.

We've already had our family dinner at my Mom's to celebrate, and I gave him a card over the weekend.  However, I wanted to make him one that I could send in the mail too.

Now, I have to say - even though this card uses the tough Just Jawing set, I think it turned out a little "too young".  I could see my 5 year old liking this card - so I may have to go back to the drawing board for my brother.  LOL!

Quick post today, as I've mentioned, I'm in the process of packing and moving ... so I don't have as much time to indulge in stamping and my blog as I'd like.

For a Pre-Teen

My step-son, Robert, is turning 12 on March 25th ... and I thought the Rockabilly DSP would match his style perfectly (click photo to enlarge, you can see the DSP much better this way).

He is a big fan of Tony Hawk brand clothing - which features skulls, crossbones, and skater images throughout the collection.

3)  The Pals (group of fellow demonstrators) challenge to use Splitcoast color challenge CC210 and a Pals twist - to use ribbon on your card.

Just a note:  There is a reason for the short post - I am in the process of moving.  So, I may be a bit scarce over the next few weeks. 

This weekend is the final move, however, there is a lot (and I mean A LOT) of cleaning, organizing, and then resting to do.

I'll do my best to keep on top of posting - but hope you'll understand if I'm not as present as I'd like to be.  We'll see how the week plays out - wish me luck!

This card was created with a special person in mind whose birthday is soon approaching.  SHHH! I can't tell you her name, because it just might be YOU!  LOL...

I created this card for the Mojo Monday sketch #76 and splitcoast color challenge (CC208).  As mentioned in an earlier post, I'm hoping to use sketches more as a way to jump start my creations. 

Sketches are great because they give you a starting point.  They are typically simple layouts but they also allow you to use your creativity to come up with something new.  In this sample, I stuck pretty close to the Mojo Monday sketch.  But anything is possible if you just use your imagination. 

This card uses Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Good Morning Sunshine  (Chocolate Chip print) and Rockabilly (Kiwi Kiss polka dots) collection.  TIP:  View my other Kreations using these papers by viewing my left sidebar.  Just click one of the DSP links and you'll see how I used these DSP's.

Sip by Sip Swap

At the end of January, I was contacted through Splitcoaststampers by uber-talent Jami.  She said she had noticed my uploads in the Sip by Sip stamp set gallery (TIP:  click the Sip by Sip link to see what else I've done with this set).

Jami wondered if I'd like to participate in a swap using the new set and I, of course, said YES!  The swap I signed up for also included the use of the Rockabilly Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). 

How fun!!  I'm excited to see what I get back from the other swappers.  Many stamp sets and DSP collections were featured.

Sticky Cuts Sweet

See that glitter covered heart? 

It's a die cut double sided sticky shape that is part of the Sticky Cuts Sweet collection (page 180, item #114301, $8.95).  You get 2 sheets of 12" x 12" die cuts per package.  These designs are exclusive to Stampin' Up!, you can only buy them here.

Stampers Block

Anyone else out there get stampers block?

I have a case of stampers block today.  My new goodies arrived Thursday night and today is the first time I had a chance to sit down and play.  This new stamp set "Sip by Sip" looks so fun to use, yet I struggled with it. 

A Riding Hood Red lady?  Red coffee steam?  LOL!  Stampers block or not, I think the end result turned out pretty cute all things considered.

Whenever I get new Stampin' Up! supplies I am SO overly excited to use everything at once.  I think that is where the block comes in and my mind goes blank with ideas. 

The designer paper used here is called Rockabilly.  It is a specialty paper with a matte finish on one side and a glossy finish on the other.  If you want to see what colors coordinate with the new designer series paper ... check it out here. 

Did you notice the large white brad?  It's a brand new accessory in the Spring-Summer Idea & Catalog.  These brads are 5/8" in diameter and come in Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, and Silver (item #112533, $6.95, for 32 brads).  I used a Basic Black rub-on flower to give my brad some flair.
