Here's a birthday card and gift I put together for my Sister-in-Law, Jessica.

The 3 x 3 cards were one of the make & takes from Convention 2009.  I thought she'd enjoy these little note cards.

Below is a photo of wrapped Hershey nuggets in a hinged tin.  I stamped the "chocolate" image on Avery Mailing Labels (size 8160) and wrapped each one. 

This was a personalized, fun, easy, and inexpensive gift to make.  Sometimes, you make something and it's almost too hard to give away.  This was one of those gifts.  

What is a dumb-nut?

I'd like to show you a few notebooks I altered for my trip to Convention. 

By the time you read this, I will have already spent one night in Utah.  Today starts the big events!

Pink Flamingo

These notebooks are what I like to call dumb-nut gifts.  They are simple and inexpensive to make, but are also a fun gift to receive.  My Grandma always used the term dumb-nut around Christmas time.  As I was making these - I remembered her term fondly and it made me smile.

The first one (above) is mine, I'm a fan of Real Red and Kraft.  The rest of the notebooks are for a few people I'll meet while I'm in Utah.  I hope my fellow Demonstrators enjoy their dumb-nut gift.  I know mine will get put to good use - plan to fill it with creative ideas to bring back to you, my readers!

Count 'em ... 1, 2, 3, 4

I love the result of this clean and simple card (CAS).  The ironic thing is that it took me 4 stamp sets to achieve this look. 

Anyone care to guess what 4 sets I used?  Find out at the end of this post (no peeking!)  HINT:  These little party hats are meant to be "worn" on another part of the body.

Splitcoaststampers was where I found inspiration for this card.  The CAS challenge for today was to create a birthday card.  If you've never created a clean and simple card, I highly recommend trying it out. 

To date, I think my best cards have been what I call Kwik & Kool. 

Short post for today because I want time to browse my catalog.  I have yet to press the order button because I'm trying hard to choose only the items I REALLY love.

Melon Mambo

Using the Mojo Monday sketch #92, I came up with what I consider my "girliest" card creation.  She's all dolled up in Melon Mambo and ready to party!

This new In Color may be a bit confusing to some because it's pink and when most think of melon, they think of an orange tone.  I too, thought this when I first heard about the new In Color, but then someone described it as a watermelon pink and everything clicked.

The bling you see on these Razzle Dazzle images are from the fire circle rhinestone collection.  FUN TIP:  Disassemble your brads to create "stick on" rhinestones, like I did here using one large and two small brads.

How did I do that?  Bend the legs back on the brad and pop out the rhinestone center.  The trickiest part is figuring out how to adhere them to the cardstock.  I simply lay them on my snail adhesive runner and that picks up enough glue to stick them on.  

Here is the color comparison for Melon Mambo (mounted on Melon Mambo textured cardstock) using an image from the Circle Circus stamp set.  Colors from left to right are as follows:  Melon Mambo, Pink Passion, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink.

Crushed Curry

Crushed Curry doesn't clown around on day four of the Parade of In Colors.

Today's In Color is my favorite of the six new colors.  I'm usually not a fan of the yellow family, but something about this particular yellow has converted me.

I participated in splitcoaststampers sketch challenge (SC234) - and what a fun sketch it is!

For layers 2-a and 2-b, I stamped one of the Razzle Dazzle images (available July 1), again creating my own designer paper (DP). See yesterday's Bermuda Bay card for another custom DP example.

For the layer labeled "3" on the sketch, I stamped the large image from Razzle Dazzle and aligned the sentiment using my stamp-a-ma-jig.  Two jumbo white Stampin' Up! brads adorn opposite corners for added interest. 

Do you see that pretty polka-dot ribbon peeking out?  That's the 1/2" Crushed Curry polka-dot grosgrain (also available July 1).  Wanna know a secret?  The flip side of the ribbon is spotless or should I say dot-less. 

On this color swatch those Circle Circus images are mounted on a piece of Crushed Curry textured cardstock.  Colors from left to right are as follows:  Crushed Curry, Summer Sun, More Mustard, & So Saffron.

Beautiful Bot

When I bought this Lots of Bots stamp set, I took a step out on a limb. 

You see, this set is what I consider a line stamp set - which means what?  Coloring!!  Oh my word.  As much as I love coloring ... with crayons, mind you ... I'm just not that fantastic of a watercolor artist.
