Ahoy!

After making my son's 5th birthday invitations, I felt the urge to continue playing  with the "Ahoy, Matey" stamp set. 

I participated in last week's SCS sketch challenge, ways to use it challenge, and a challenge to use buttons - all in this one card. 

The base of the card is Kiwi Kiss and I used two different Designer Series Papers (DSP).  The blue argyle is from the collection called Frosty Day and the Kiwi Kiss circular pattern is from Haiku.

Candy Corn Kisses

Today's Kreation is inspired by an upcoming Stampin' Up! party, where I've been asked to demonstrate a Halloween bag topper. 

This little bag filled with candy corn flavored Hershey's kisses is attempt one for me - I always like to come up with multiple designs.  I decided to try a non-Halloween designer paper.  I used a print from the Haiku Designer Series Paper collection (see image snapshot below) as the topper. 

Haiku coordinates with Tangerine Tango and So Saffron cardstock, ink and ribbon.  TIP:  See this chart to help you coordinate Designer Series Paper with other Stampin' Up! colors. 

I punched out a large oval and two small ovals to create my focal point on the bag topper.  I wanted to make it look like a piece of candy, so I tied off the ends with a bit of gold ribbon. 

The stamp set used on both items is "Batty For You" (see end of post for image snapshot).  I chose the pumpkin image to tie the theme of the card and treat bag together. 

Trying to keep it more adult like, I created a simple design and color scheme.  The scallop border punch allowed me to add a bit of interest to both the mini 3"x3" card as well as the bag topper itself.
