Mini Milk Carton

I made this Mini Milk Carton with my new Stampin' Up! Big Shot.  

I had put off purchasing a Big Shot for months ... but am I ever glad I finally made the investment. 

Here's the "skinny" on the Mini Milk Carton die ...

• Designed to cut through one sheet of paper or card stock at a time
• Use with Sizzix Big Shot machine and standard or extended cutting pads; for best results, also use standard or extended premium crease pad
• Finished carton size: 1-5/8" x 1-5/8" x 3-1/8"
• Die size: 6" x 8-3/4"

Using the FREE Good Neighbors stamp set, I stamped and cut out these adorable little house, tree & cloud images.  This project fit the bill for the most recent Pals Paper Arts challenge.

This card and gift is for my husband... we don't really celebrate V-Day, but I always like to get him a little something.

This year his gift is wasabi almonds and salted cashews.  He's trying to stay away from sugar so I thought nuts were a good alternative to the chocolate that he loves.

Now me on the other hand... bring on the candy!

I have been contemplating purchasing this die cut machine for months... and I finally went for it.

After seeing all of the awesome creations made using the Big Shot, I had to try it for myself.  So, last night I quickly opened it and made this Fancy Favor box.

A Stamping We Will Go!

I've decided to show off the new clear mount stamp sets, I {heart} Hearts and Well Scripted.  (see individual photos of these projects in my gallery).

Tip:  This little favor box is so easy. 
Simply cut cardstock to 3 1/2" x 11", then score at 4 1/2" and 6 1/2"

I created this set of 4 Valentine's love notes... each on 3" x 3"  piece of Stampin' Up! In Color cardstock.  The colors I used here (left to right) are Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo.

I used the fan and typewriter image from Puns from the Past stamp set, inked with matching Color Stampin' Write markers.  On the inside you'll see I stamped the sentiment to make the image.

• Create using the theme:  Winter Wonderland
  
• Upload to Pals Paper Arts by Tuesday, December 22 (Noon CST)
• If you upload to an online gallery, enter PPA21 in the keyword section

The card I created for today's challenge was so incredibly easy!

Card Details

• Trim designer paper (I used Christmas Cocoa specialty) to 4" x 5 1/4"
  
• Adhere piece of ribbon across the top (I used Soft Suede Polka Dot)
  
• Stamp your sentiment directly on the designer paper in Soft Suede Classic Ink
  
• Finish off with a button in the center of the snowflake.  I threaded a piece of golden ribbon through my button.
• Adhere designer paper to card stock
  
• Done!

Speaking of a winter wonderland ... here are photos of our front yard and driveway.  Last week we received over 18" of snow - this is what we woke up to in the morning!!

Grateful for Good News

I am ever so grateful for good news ... especially when it's about my Mom.

Yesterday, she went in for her routine follow up with her oncologist.  She left with the news that her liver count is down (although still high), she gets a break from chemotherapy, and her abdominal swelling WILL go down!

This is all great news that couldn't have come at a better time for her.  It's the perfect "break" she needed and deserves.

I hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving and are grateful for whats in your life.
