Ohh la la ... look at what I won at Convention!

The Chic Boutique stamp set!!  I got pulled up to answer a question pertaining to the Sock Monkey stamp set and ended up winning this and I didn't even have to answer correctly.  LOL!

I participated in the splitcoaststampers clean and simple (CAS) challenge #27.  The title of this challenge was "show off your bling!". 

You may not be able to see clearly in my photos, but I used Stampin' Up!'s micro beads.  Using my 2 way glue pen I applied adhesive to certain areas of my black embossed images. 
 

I then poured a generous amount of micro beads over the glued areas and poof - instant bling!  Click to enlarge the images, hopefully you can see how much fun these little beads add to my simple cards (single cards shown in my card gallery).


Here's a peek of the inside of each card.  Black card bases are always a challenge, because it is hard to write inside (unless you use a white or metallic pen).  But I added a piece of Kraft using the Top Note die and sliced it in half.  Simple solution but fun result!

Build-a-Bear

Meet Boo the Bear (that's what my son Devlin named this fuzzy guy). 

I purchased him at Convention ... He came fully equipped with his own apron and cute stamp that reads "Life Without Stamps ... Unbearable"

Inspire, Create, Share

The theme of Stampin' Up!'s 2009 Convention is Inspire, Create, Share.

While I've been here in Utah, I have been incredibly inspired ... can't wait to create ... and share with you!

I return home tonight and can't wait to see my husband and little guy.  Sunday will be spent with them - but I plan to get working so I can share some great things I learned in my time at Convention.

What is a dumb-nut?

I'd like to show you a few notebooks I altered for my trip to Convention. 

By the time you read this, I will have already spent one night in Utah.  Today starts the big events!

Pink Flamingo

These notebooks are what I like to call dumb-nut gifts.  They are simple and inexpensive to make, but are also a fun gift to receive.  My Grandma always used the term dumb-nut around Christmas time.  As I was making these - I remembered her term fondly and it made me smile.

The first one (above) is mine, I'm a fan of Real Red and Kraft.  The rest of the notebooks are for a few people I'll meet while I'm in Utah.  I hope my fellow Demonstrators enjoy their dumb-nut gift.  I know mine will get put to good use - plan to fill it with creative ideas to bring back to you, my readers!

Convention: Here I Come!

In less than 2 weeks I will be in Salt Lake City, Utah attending Stampin' Up!'s Convention.  To say I am excited is putting it mildly!!

TIP:  If you don't subscribe to my blog already - you may want to do so now.  I will do my best to share anything I'm allowed while I'm out there with my readers.  Subscribe to stay "in the know".

I've created a category called Convention 2009 (found on my left sidebar), that you will be able to click for easy access to any Convention related information.

What is Convention?

It's a yearly event where Demonstrators can gather with fellow Demonstrators to have fun and also learn new techniques for workshops and projects. 

Demonstrators from across the US and Canada come together for three days of education, celebration, and motivation.  Convention includes time to swap cards, attend business classes and new product demonstrations, participate in Make & Takes and enjoy time with the best stampers in the world.

I'm very excited to say that I will be able to meet some of my virtual Pals this year in Salt Lake City.  I can't wait to come back with some fresh new ideas to share with all of you on my blog. 

ON MY AGENDA
A Tour of the Riverton Campus - this is where Stampin' Up! inventory is kept before reaching our homes.  We'll also visit the Legacy Museum, where we can take a walk down memory lane and see just how far Stampin' Up! has come.  Also included in the tour is a visit to Demonstrator Support, where we can get a glimpse of Stampin' Up! employees who help answer our daily questions.  Finally, there is a tour of the Ideas Room, which was created to help SU! designers think outside of the box. 

Splitcoaststampers Dinner - I'll get to meet so many talented stampers in person.  This is going to be a blast.

Business Classes - to help me be a better Demonstrator.  To allow me to inspire, create and share with all of you.

FUN, FUN, FUN!! - Me time, take it all in and enjoy my very favorite hobby.  Being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and paper artist.
