Spooky Stocking

This spooky stocking idea came to me as I thought of Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. 

My husband, son & I love this movie and enjoy watching Jack Skellington, The Pumpkin King, discover Christmas for the first time. 

This stocking is a Big Shot Bigz L Die.  The stocking measures 5-1/2" x 4-3/4".  The die measures 6" x 8-3/4".  Use it with paper, fabric, felt & more!  I have SO many ideas for this die - it makes the purchase very worthwhile to me.

The accessories inside the stocking are also a Die.  Candy cane piece measures 3" x 1-3/8". Entire die measures 4-3/4" x 5-1/2".

Spooky Bingo Bits Tree

Check out this spooky tree picture frame!

I found it last year at my local hobby store and it sat for an entire year full of strangers photos. My husband was starting to get creeped out by the random people looking at him every day.  But, as soon as I bought Spooky Bingo Bits, I knew just what I wanted to do with it.

Here's what I did:

• I stamped the Spooky Bingo Bits images in VersaMark ink on different colored cardstock. Note:  I stamped two of each image - this frame is double sided.
• I then heat embossed each image with Black Stampin' Emboss powder to give each image a uniform look.  
• After I set my images with the heat tool, I stamped over the image with the Dot, Dot, Dot single stamp in the same ink color as the card stock for a monochromatic effect (all images except the moon - I wanted that one to pop).
• I punched the images out using my circle punches and simply trimmed the edges until they fit into the frames.

I'm finally getting in the holiday mood.

It was such good "therapy" to get stamping again.  The idea of Christmas without my Mom has been a difficult pill to swallow.  So, I haven't been in the holiday mood at all - in fact, I wanted to just skip it all together.  BUT I started to create this little house and it did wonders to bring in the holiday spirit.

Spooky Things

Just sharing some cute Halloween decorations created with the Spooky Things Decor Elements.

I also used the Spooky Things Decor Elements on this shadow box frame.  A great home decor item that I can use year after year.  I can easily change out the interior to create a whole new look.  Fun!

The spiders are adhered to the outside (glass) and the rest of the images are adhered to Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla cardstock.  I even added some bling to the raven's eye and around his neck. 

Ghoulish Gifts

 

Halloween is coming and this year I want to celebrate well in advance. 

I kicked off my celebration with a spooky project.  This adorable little box holds a 1 fluid ounce bottle of anti bacterial pocket gels from Bath & Body Works. 

The scents I purchased are:  Zombie Squad Marshmallow, Candy Corn Caramel, Vampire Blood Plum, and Bat Bite Apple.  SO FUN!!

For my 3D project, I decided to use the Milk Carton big shot die, new owl and 2 3/8" scallop circle punches.  The milk carton was cut out of the ultra thin birch wood sheets sold by Stampin' Up! (#116309).  I thought it was the perfect fit for Mr. Owl. 

Before assembling the milk carton, I stamped in Early Espresso with my Woodgrain background stamp.  Cute texture, don't you think?

I then punched out Mr. Owl in Early Espresso card stock and created a cute little "vest" in Tempting Turquoise printed designer paper.

A small paper polka-dotted lollipop peeks out of the mini carton for a bit of whimsy.

Butterfly Bouquet

I have long admired the many paper flower bouquets I've seen on the Internet.

Finally, with some recent purchases of the Big Shot, Beautiful Butterfiles Bigz Die, and Flower Folds Bigz XL die - I was able to create my own!

Teacher Appreciation

Wanted to share with you, a small gift I made for my son's Kindergarten teacher.

Happy Admin. Day!

Today, there are more than 4.1 million secretaries and administrative assistants working in the United States, according to U.S. Department of Labor statistics, and 8.9 million people working in various administrative support roles.

I am one of those 4.1 million people.  I support a Sales & Marketing team, most of who work remotely - located across the United States. 

At my workplace - there are a few other women in an admin. role that I wanted to recognize.  I made each one of them a little gift and will place it on their desk before they arrive tomorrow morning. 

Growing up, I always enjoyed writing lists, organizing, & planning (still do!).  In high school and college, somehow I was always chosen to be the "secretary" of the group. 

I guess it was only natural that I transitioned into a career as an Administrative Assistant.  Although, my heart lies with Stampin' Up! and hopefully one day, I can be a full-time Demonstrator.

Until then - Happy Administrative Professionals Day to my fellow Admin's!
