These two pages are part of an on-going My Digital Studio (MDS) scrapbook I'm creating in memory of my Mom. (Click to enlarge images)
While the pages aren't fancy or incredibly embellished. They tell the story, just the same.
In this book, I am using many of my Mom's own words. As soon as she was diagnosed, I started saving e-mails from her. By doing this, I am able to capture "her voice" allowing her to tell her own story. It certainly isn't easy for me to look back in time and realize she is, in fact, gone. It's a tough pill to swallow and I don't think I'll ever get over the loss - she is terribly missed. But, I believe that this book allowed me to start grieving the loss of not only my Mom, but my best friend.
I used the beautiful Strength & Hope Digital Kit to build my book. This kit includes a four-piece stamp brush set, 12 Designer Series Papers, and 10 embellishment pieces. Stampin' Up! is donating $2 from the purchase of this kit to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.
Strength & Hope, Item #124475, $9.95
The two pages featured above are pages 4 & 5 of a 28 page scrapbook (it continues to grow). Here you can view page 2 and page 3. Below is the cover of my book, which hasn't been previously shared. Watermarked across the cover page is her obituary. I wanted to capture the loving words we put together for her.
Thank you for allowing me to share her story & photos with you. As much as it pains me to look at these pages - it is truly theraputic for me to do so.
This is beautiful and I'm glad it is helpful for you to do it, Kris.

Kris to have the emails from your Mom is incredibly powerful. Your album is a wonderful tribute to her.

I bought the Strength and Hope set also, in memory of some friends and in honor of some others. I think what you are doing is wonderful. It will mean a lot to your son also.

Kris, the pages are perfect for the subject! It's all about the story - and sometimes about the healing! Who are the ladies in the pictures?
