Sadly, this is my final submission as part of the Pals Paper Arts Design Team. But you will be pleased to see submissions from new members in 2010!
As some of you may know, 2009 has been a busy and "rough" year for me and my family. It has resulted in a hard decision for me to take a step back from my stamping commitments.
See that little guy in the photos above? That is my main reason for stepping back. I need to focus on family and spend time with my little guy - instead of scrambling to get a blog post up or scrambling to create a project to share.
I have every intention of continuing to stamp, create and share ... it just might be a bit less frequent. I'm not sure what 2010 will bring for me, but I have to trust my gut and "be there" for my family.
I created this scrapbook page using My Digital Studio. This photo (however unflattering of me) was taken by my husband, while my son Devlin & I cuddled on the couch. Seeing this photo reinforced my decision to give more time to my son and less time to the computer.
We hope you'll come Play @ PPA! The design team loves seeing what you've created. There is some amazing talent out there.

Happy Holidays to you ...
While Christmas day has passed, my family still has 2 more Christmas celebrations to go.
We've had 3 Christmas celebrations so far starting on Christmas Eve. After all of the celebrating is done on January 2, we'll wake up before the sun on January 3 and bid my Dad farewell.
He departs for Iraq Sunday ... and while I knew this day was coming ... it certainly crept up quickly. I've been avoiding the emotions of his departure. Here's hoping I can keep it together when he flies out.
His gift arrives tomorrow and I am very excited for him to see it.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and spent quality time with loved ones. I'll be back soon with creations to share ... but need some time to catch up from the hustle & bustle.

Today is Christmas Eve and I am spending quality time with my family. I hope you are doing something enjoyable with your family, friends or even getting some quality "me" time.
This card was created for my Step-Daughter's 14th Birthday. I really like how the paper piercing turned out.
I remember a plaque on my Dad's bedroom dresser that said "Any Man Can be a Father, but it Takes Someone Special to be a Dad."
This is so true of my Dad. He is and always has been one of the most supportive men in my life.
With this, I honor him as my Dad and as a wonderful Grandpa. We say goodbye to him on January 3 as he departs for Iraq. But it's only "goodbye for now... get home soon!"
I created these pages in Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio and I sent my 22 page book out for printing. I can't wait to see it in person and more importantly see my Dad's reaction to his gift. I hope the photos and notes bring him comfort while he is away from family.

I wanted to share some more quick, last minute gifts for the holiday season. Last night I was wrapping all of our Christmas gifts for family... I wanted to add something small to a few people's packages.
I remembered I had these great skinny silver tins that I bought for 99 cents each in the clearance rack.
Lightbulb moment!! I stared at the tremendous amount of holiday candy I bought and decided to create custom made chocolate gifts.
Here they are ... which one is your favorite? Mine is the very last one - love the bling!

Just sharing a simple gift packaging idea with you today.
I cut out a piece of designer series paper to adorn the lid of this little gift box. It added a festive feel and I topped it off with some pretty ribbon and a stamped image from the Holiday Best - hostess stamp set.
Inside is a sparkly apple ornament for my son's Kindergarten teacher. I wish I took a photo of it - it's so pretty! You'll just have to use your imagination and ooh and aah with me.
Sometimes all it takes is adding pretty paper, a little ink to make a gift "extra special". I hope she likes it!
