Pals Paper Arts presents you with our 10th challenge today.
The rules are simple:
- Create using the theme of thanks
- Upload your card to Pals Paper Arts by Tuesday, October 6 (Noon CST)
- If you upload to an online gallery, enter PPA10 in the keyword section
- Most importantly ... create and share your thankful project.
My creation for today is very important to me.
You see - I created these two cards with someone very special in mind.
Someone that I will be forever grateful for, someone that I admire and love with my whole heart.
That someone is my Mom...
In August of 2006, she was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. This rare type of cancer accounts for approximately 1% of all breast cancer cases.
Talk about scary. But if that wasn't enough to test her strength ... the cancer spread to her bone. Most recently, her tumor count has tripled and she is now on a path to permanent chemotherapy.
My Mom is 54 years young and while I realize nature and science will take its course, I refuse to let that get me down. I plan to keep hope in my heart and help her life a happy, healthy life for as long as possible.
She is surrounded by a loving family, great friends, and guardian angels. I know she will appreciate having thank you cards ready to send. I plan to make more, package them up, and get them in her hands ASAP.
I love you, Mom!
Back to the cards - I am so happy I bought this Gratuitous Graffiti background stamp. These cards turned out beautifully and I have enjoyed using this image greatly.
It was really fun creating with all of the new In Colors as well. Sitting atop my favorite card base, Kraft cardstock, I think this is a great start to a pretty set of cards.
Oh Kris, so sorry to hear about your mom. I will keep her and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Your mom will love this card! It's so cool!!!
