Four Talented Ladies - Thank You!

I wanted to express my gratitude for the cards that are starting to come in for my Dad.  I have a few to share with you today ... there are a few more that are currently at the hospital.  I need to bring them home with me to photograph.

Elegant, beautiful and touching... (sorry for the blurry photo!).  This card came from my Aunt Mary.  She is on my Mom's side of the family but has been so supportive to me through my Stampin' Up! career and personal life.  Thank you, Autie M!

We hope that my Dad is released from the hospital early next week.  This will bring a whole new set of challenges, as we try to care for him in his home.  Only time will tell what that will bring.  He's doing very well so far and we only expect the best to come.

Crossing my fingers tight in hopes to find stamping time this weekend!

Mother's Day Ideas

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted ... it's been quite chaotic since my Dad's accident last Wednesday.

I have not found the time to stamp myself lately, but thought I could still share a few cool projects with you.

 

I thought these two projects would make fabulous Mother's Day Gifts.

The first one is an 8x8 scrapbook page.  Isn't the color combo so pretty?  NOTE:  You could easily customize this using another color scheme, designer paper & accessories.

Paper

• Whisper White textured card stock (5-1/4# x 1-5/8#)
• 2 Sweet Simply Scrappin'

Accessories & Tools

• Button Bouquet
• Stampin' Dimensionals
• Crochet thread

Instructions

1. Adhere Designer Series paper (2-1/8" x 8") to Elegant Eggplant textured page. Adhere Kiwi Kiss self-adhesive strip to page, flush with edge of Designer Series paper. Adhere thin Basic Gray self-adhesive strip along right edge of Designer Series paper.
2. Print journaling on Whisper White textured card stock. Adhere to page. Adhere Kiwi Kiss self-adhesive heart to page.
3. Fold Kiwi Kiss self-adhesive tab over top edge of photo. Adhere self-adhesive greeting to tab. Adhere self-adhesive flower to tab using Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere photo to page.
4. Layer circle, arrow, row-of-stars, and star self-adhesive die cuts using Stampin' Dimensionals between circle/arrow and arrow/star layers. Adhere to page.
5. Layer flower self-adhesive die cuts. Thread crochet thread through holes in Kiwi Kiss button, and adhere button to center of layered flower. Adhere to page.
6. Layer star and two sizes of heart self-adhesive die cuts. Adhere to page using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The second project is that cute little flower box. 

Paper

• 2 Sweet Simply Scrappin'

Accessories & Tools

• Kiwi Kiss 5/8" striped grosgrain ribbon
• Button Latte
• Stampin' Dimensionals
• Sticky Strip
• Scallop Edge punch
• 1-3/4" Circle punch
• Crochet thread
• Wire

Instructions

1. Cut box from Pale Plum textured card stock using pattern.
2. Scallop top edge of box using Scallop Edge punch, and assemble box.
3. Wrap wide Basic Gray self-adhesive strip around box.
4. Tie Kiwi Kiss 5/8" striped grosgrain ribbon around box.
5. Punch circle from Elegant Eggplant textured card stock using 1-3/4" Circle punch. Adhere thinking of you self-adhesive circle to center of card stock circle using Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere to box.
6. Create flowers by layering self-adhesive die cut pieces, popping up the flower centers using Stampin' Dimensionals.
7. Thread crochet thread through holes of Whisper White button, and adhere button to center of one flower.
8. Adhere flowers to wire stems, using Sticky Strip to secure flowers to wire. Do not peel second piece of backing from Sticky Strip. Tuck flowers inside box.

Scarce in the Stamping World

I might be a bit scarce in the stamping (and blogging world) so, I hope you'll stick with me.

My Dad got in a motorcycle accident on April 15 and is currently in the trauma center at our local hospital.  He is doing "OK" considering his injuries ...

He has several fractured ribs, several punctures in his lungs, broken pieces on his spine and a lacerated liver & kidney.  Currently, they are trying to manage his pain and have 3 chest tubes in his body to remove the excess fluid from his lungs.  Trying to prevent pneumonia and internal infection right now is key.

Recovery is going to be a long road for my Dad, the avid golfer ...

I'd love to shower him with cards and get well wishes.

A Card & Convention

This is a card that I made at the Stampin' Up! Regionals event in Minnesota a few weekends ago.

Well, I should say I started the card at Regionals and finished it off at home.  These are not colors that I would typically put together, but I really love how it turned out.  It's always great when you go outside your "stamping box", isn't it?

Do you want to see why I've been MIA lately?  Well, I've been spending some quality time with the cutest guy in the universe.  Sometimes stamping and blogging has to take a back seat to cuties like this!  (photo is a blurry due to a little boy in action!)

 

Eclectic Circles

As you may recall, I recently moved into a new home.  In this new home, I have been fortunate enough to get my own stamping room!  YEAH!!!

Moving is a pain, but one good thing is that you get the opportunity to re-organize and clean house.  So, I've been slowly trying to customize my new space.  Keep in mind - it's not completely "ready to show", but I wanted to give you a sneak peek into where I create.

Without You Note Card Holder

Here is another sample from the Minnesota Regionals.  This project was one of many make-n-take's at the event - and just so happened to be my favorite.

This note card holder was a breeze to stamp and assemble.  Below you'll see the three note cards and matching envelopes that fit inside.  Do you want to know how to make the finished product?

The matching envelopes were lined with paper from the Baja Breeze Patterns designer paper.  What a quick and easy way to complete your project.  I think it makes for a more professional, finished collection.  Would you agree?

Scrappin' & Stampin'

I'm back from the Stampin' Up! Regional event that was held in Minneapolis, MN.  What a blast and boy do I have some cool ideas to share with you.  So, stay tuned!

This scrapbook page (size 6x6) was one of the make-n-takes at the event.  I altered it a bit as the page was originally designed for a winter theme. 

My son is 5 years old and will be graduating from Pre-K very soon and moving into the big world of Kindergarten.  I thought his cap & gown photo would be a perfect fit for this scrap layout.

Using the Best Wishes & More stamp set (which we got for free at Regionals), I stamped the heart in Whisper White craft ink on a piece of Pacific Point cardstock. 

I then punched it out using the scallop circle punch.  The punched out heart is adhered to a white 2" circle tag (item #103374, $4.25 for 12 tags - six 2" and six 1 1/2" per package).


These tags are going on my next order!  They are so fun to work with!  TIP - use your 1 3/4" circle punch to layer perfectly inside the 2" circle tag.
