Today's card was created for my 6th wedding Anniversary.  I was sorting through my personal Stampin' Up! stash and came across the JackPot Designer Paper.  On one of the prints the word "heart" stood out to me.  It seemed like a perfect fit for the feel I had in mind.

So, I trimmed only that word out and mounted it on top of another print from the collection.  I like the simplicity of the card and the contrast of Kiwi Kiss against the Very Vanilla and Black patterned paper.

See that cute little heart peeking out?  Wonder how I did that?

• Punch out a 1/2" circle on the JackPot paper
• Stamp a small heart on Very Vanilla, punch it out using a 1" circle punch
• Adhere the Very Vanilla circle to the backside of the JackPot paper
• Adhere the JackPot paper to the Kiwi Kiss card base
• Using a Jumbo Grommet, pierce it through the cardstock directly over the punched out circle
• Bend the grommet's "legs" back using a bone folder or other hard object

There you have it ... a little peek hole for added interest.  NOTE:  The "i" and "u" are non-Stampin' Up! rub-on's.  But you could easily substitute these letters with an alphabet stamp set, chipboard letters or even die cut letters.

Garden (Tea) Party

Au Naturale

Happy (day after) Mother's Day!

I made this fun gift set for my Mom.  I am posting this project a day late because I did not want her to visit my blog and ruin the surprise.  See another view of this project in My Kreations Gallery.

This box was made using Lauren Meader's From the Desk of template.  See my other creation using this template by clicking here. 

My Mom loves going plant and flower shopping in May.  So, I pulled together a small gift set using a "gardening" theme.  Inside this box, you'll find 3 seed packets (flowers), some plant markers, and a bitty book labeled "buds".  The stamp set used here is called Scene in a Garden from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

In this little book, she can place photos of her flowering seeds (buds) OR take photos of her friends (buds).  Cute, huh?

I wanted to keep things "natural" looking, so I did not ink the chipboard letters.  They may look a little bit "naked", but I am a huge fan of Stampin' Up!'s Kraft cardstock. 

Finally, I had to create a coordinating card - so I did so using the same Designer Paper Collection called "Tea Party".

But, I'll hold off until tomorrow to share that with you.

Teacher Appreciation

May 3 - 9 is Teacher Appreciation week ... It's my son's last year in daycare.  In the Fall, he will run with the big boys in Kindergarten.  How time flies! 

I made this card set for my son's Pre-K teacher.  She goes by Ms. Cindy - thus the reason for the chipboard C on the front.

A while back, I bought my first Timeless Template from Lauren Meader.  These templates are a fabulous deal - at only $5.00 a pop, you get the full template along with several design ideas.  This particular template is called "From the Desk Of", the design ideas are limited only by your imagination.

It's been a little over a month since I've been able to stamp.  Early April we moved, and then mid April my Dad had a motorcycle accident.  So, I've been taking care of him daily since then ... but I finally found a bit of "me" time last night.

Little Nut Brown Hare

This Little Nut Brown Hare reminds me of the first book I bought for my son "Guess How Much I Love You" by Sam McBratney.

That little board book describes how I feel about my little guy and always will.  If you are interested:  read the text here.

My card uses the newly released "An Egg-cellent Easter" stamp set (item 113196).  You'll get 6 images in this set for only $21.95!!

This little nut brown hare was stamped on watercolor paper, then colored in using Stampin' Write markers in Cameo Coral and Lovely Lilac.  I used a signo white gel pen to make her bunny tail pop!

This was a Kwik & Kool card to make, meaning that it took less than 15 minutes from start to finish.  Gotta love that!

Scene in a Garden

This brand new stamp set is called Scene in a Garden and can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  If you didn't already know - the catalog was released today!!

I can't decide what image is my favorite.  I lean towards that adorable little bird and then I look at the rain boots all lined up in a row and my heart swoons.

Here's a snapshot of the full image set.  Can you stand to pass it up?  Imagine all the scenes you can create with these garden images.

This card uses the Mojo Monday sketch #80.  At first, I was intimidated by all of the design elements here, but I am quite pleased with my result.

I used some Parisian Breeze Specialty designer paper on this card as well.  I tell you, I'm not a huge fan of blue - but these papers are convincing me otherwise.  LOL!  I'm soooo glad I ordered this paper.

Fun Flamingo

Fast post today ... we are still in the process of packing. 

Last night I finally had to cave and pack up my beloved stamping area.  So, I don't know how much I'll have to share over the next few days.  :(

But I hope you'll stick with me and keep coming back to check on me!

I just purchased this Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper.  I have been eyeing it up since the new catalog was released.  I finally caved in and ordered it and I am SO HAPPY I did.  I love the bright colors and fun prints.

The fabulous friend sentiment is from the soon-to-be-released Oval All stamp set.  This set is in the Occasions Mini Catalog - due for release April 1st.  NOTE:  The Oval All stamps work with the oval punch, however, I was able to ink up just the sentiment  using my Stampin' Write Tempting Turquoise marker and punch it out with my 1" circle punch.

For a Pre-Teen

My step-son, Robert, is turning 12 on March 25th ... and I thought the Rockabilly DSP would match his style perfectly (click photo to enlarge, you can see the DSP much better this way).

He is a big fan of Tony Hawk brand clothing - which features skulls, crossbones, and skater images throughout the collection.

3)  The Pals (group of fellow demonstrators) challenge to use Splitcoast color challenge CC210 and a Pals twist - to use ribbon on your card.

Just a note:  There is a reason for the short post - I am in the process of moving.  So, I may be a bit scarce over the next few weeks. 

This weekend is the final move, however, there is a lot (and I mean A LOT) of cleaning, organizing, and then resting to do.

I'll do my best to keep on top of posting - but hope you'll understand if I'm not as present as I'd like to be.  We'll see how the week plays out - wish me luck!

Modern & Marvelous

I am loving this mod print from the Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper (DSP) collection.

Pairing this printed paper with Splitcoaststampers sketch #220, was a perfect fit.  Modern layout + modern paper = marvelously modern card.

This is a no stamping required card as well.  The images you see here are from the Summer Love Rub-On's collection (released April 1 in the Occasions Mini Catalog - same with the DSP).
