Per the norm with me, I started this card out by selecting my colors. When I was so graciously given these three FABULOUS colors of ribbon (thanks Aunt Mary) ... they were all pooled in a pretty pile. That was all the inspiration I needed to combine Sage Shadow, Rose Red, and Chocolate Chip. I have been itching to use the "Crazy for Cupcakes" stamp set and last night was finally the right time to break it out. The details of this card are pretty self-explanatory. However, I do want to point out one thing ... and that is the sentiment. Using the Happy Birthday to You curved sentiment, I decided to duplicate the arch to create a full circle. I stamped the mage in Rose Red, then used the Stamp-a-ma-jig (a must have tool) to line up the second, Chocolate Chip mirror image. And there you have it... a custom brad of sorts was created! The ribbon weaving is a new technique for me, and while striking - my favorite part is the custom made sentiment. P.S. The designer series paper (DSP) peeking out at the bottom is from the Windsor Knot collection in a Sage Shadow print. View this chart that makes it easy to coordinate Stampin' Up! DSP with cardstock. HB2U! = Happy Birthday to You!
Coincidentally, this created a perfect circle that I was able to punch out using my 1 3/8" circle punch. I then punched out a 1" circle in Chocolate Chip, and a 3/4" circle in Rose Red to layer in the middle of the sentiment.
Nice idea with the ribbon intertwined. Very pretty colors too!
