Some fun stuff in store!  

Today’s Kreation, titled “Ladies and Gentlemen”, are two basic cards stamped with the “Fresh Cuts” stamp set.  Using the current In Colors – Groovy Guava & Purely Pomegranate I designed a simple card for the ladies (and girls). 

I then wanted to make an option for the gentlemen (and boys).  Even though the stamp is a flower, it’s made a bit more masculine by using Blue Bayou and Soft Sky.  Very basic design, but beautifully striking at the same time.  Proving once again, how very versatile the “Fresh Cuts” collection can bee. 

I have a buzzzzy weekend ahead of me, starting tomorrow with leading my team "Paint the Town Pink", at Race for the Cure (feel free to check out my team blog) and then a family reunion out of town.  But, I hope to update my blog daily with new content … so I hope you check back over the weekend.  If nothing else, please Buzz by for the Kween Bee Kreations promo announcement on Sunday, June 1^st.

Rock, Paper, Scissors

I am a self-proclaimed paper hoarder … I have to admit.   There, I've come clean.  Maybe now, I can let go of my outdated, retired Stampin' Up! paper. (I feel blog candy surfacing)

If it were up to my 4 year old son, Devlin, he’d choose scissors every time.  Recently, he showed my husband & I that he learned how to play Rock, Paper, Scissors.  Every single time, out come the little fingers shaped like scissors.  Then he laughs hysterically and says “cut, cut, cut, cut, cut, cut” happily cutting away at the other persons hand.  It’s adorable.

For this card, I stepped outside the Stampin’ Up! box by using a Non-SU stamp set (oh my!).  Being that Bee’s are my “thing”, I just had to buy the “Honey Bees” stamp set from Papertrey Ink. 

I used all Stampin’ Up! paper, tools, ink, and ribbon for the rest of this card.  I started with a base of Very Vanilla, adding to that a color block of Soft Sky  (current In Color expiring August 10) and Chocolate Chip.  These pieces took a spin through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.   

The body of the bee was inked up in Soft Sky and stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then inked up the rest of the bee in Chocolate Chip and brought this Queenbee to life.  Isn't she BEEutiful?  I punched around the bee, being careful to center the wings within my Stampin’ Up! scallop circle punch.  The sentiment is inked in Chocolate Chip and mounted on punched out large and small SU ovals.  Rhinestone bling and a strip of Very Vanilla narrow grosgrain ribbon make this card complete.

I was encouraged by my Aunt to share this card on my blog even though it doesn’t contain all SU products.  Thanks again for the encouragement Auntie M!!  Unfortunately, I can’t sell you the Honey Bee’s, but I can offer you great Stampin’ Up! products.  Take a peek at my recently updated order FAQ's for more information.

For this card, I CASE’d (Copy & Share for Everyone) a layout from the blog Taylored Expressions.   You can view the inspiration piece, by clicking here.

I used the “Tart & Tangy” stamp set from the Occasions Mini Collection (which expires June 30, 2008).  The fruit stamp was inked up in Only Orange and Yo Yo Yellow from the Bold Brights color family.

I stamped the the little oranges and lemons, then punched each one out using the 1” Stampin’ Up! circle punch.  I then used the 1 ¼” circle punch to pop out a circle in the coordinating color.  Each lemon is mounted using my number 3 “must have” tool – the Stampin’ Dimensionals. 

The center “Hugs & Kisses” sentiment is mounted on 3 Stampin’ Dimensionals to allow it to rise above the rest as the focal point.  Stampin' Dimensionals are a quick and inexpensive way to add interest to any card.  You get 300 in each pack for only $3.95.

I was surprised when I read my Aunt Mary's blog (Stampin' Pretty) yesterday.  She awarded me the "Kreativ Blogger" award!  This made my day and now it's my turn to pass the award on to another Kreativ Blogger.  I pass this award on to someone whose blog title complements the award title itself.  The blog I have chosen to award is "Stamp, scrap, get kreative".  The author of this blog is named Kim.  She was introduced to me by my Aunt Mary and we've helped each other as we enter the "blog world".

Congratulations Kim!  I'll be watching your blog blossom. 

Today's card was made to thank my Aunt, not only for the award, but also for supporting me as I grow as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  As I've mentioned in a previous post here at Kween Bee Kreations, becoming a demonstrator has brought me more happiness than I could have ever imagined.  I love to stamp, I love to stalk the Splitcoaststampers (SCS) watching for all those creative ideas that pop up every second, and I love representing Stampin' Up!

This card was also Kreated for the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS (FS68).  I started with a small notecard in Whisper White, added a some textured Pumpkin Pie that I scalloped along the bottom with my Stampin' Up! corner rounder.  (Scallop edge tutorial)  Then added a bit of Bashful Blue to peek out from beneath the Jersey Shore Designer Paper.

The three flowers, are from my "Priceless" stamp set (another generous gift from Auntie M) inked in Old Olive, Bashful Blue, and Pumpkin Pie.  To add a bit of sparkle I placed a Robin's Nest dew drop in the center of each flower.  Finishing off the card is the "So Kind" sentiment from the "Priceless" collection done in Brilliant Blue and Pumpkin Pie, using my Stampin' Write markers to isolate the letters, dots and little star.

I created this card for the SCS challenge – Ways to Use It (WT167).  Using the “Fresh Cuts” stamp set, I was able to transform feminine floral images into a more masculine feel.  Bravo

, Handsome Hunter, and Night of Navy assisted in the outcome you see here as well.  I used Kraft cardstock as my base, which I feel gives it a manly “rough and tough” edge.

Today’s Kreations were completed for two Splitcoaststampers (SCS) challenges.  This double pocket bag was created for the Try a New Technique (TLC169) and Color Challenge (CC167).  You can create your own double pocket bag, by using easy to follow tutorial provided by SCS.

The coordinating cards were completed for the Color Challenge.  I used Certainly Celery, Blue Bayou & Soft Sky cardstock.  I adhered half of a “Fresh Cuts” notecard to the front of textured Blue Bayou cardstock, then mounted that to a 4" x 4" piece of Certainly Celery.  These little notecards fit perfectly inside the double pocket bag.  (Note:  The Fresh Cuts Notes are 4" x 4" as well).

Fresh Cut Bouquet

Delivered to my door yesterday afternoon in the beloved brown Stampin' Up! box was the stamp set "Fresh Cuts" (which is die cut by the way!) and the "Fresh Cuts Notes" (which are laser cut).

I quickly opened the box with the help of my excited 4 year old son.  He loves when Mommy gets Stampin' Up! deliveries.  We stamped together after opening the package as he enjoys helping me break in my new stamp sets.  After he was snuggled in bed, I got to work on this Fresh Cut bouquet.  This trio of cards fall into the category Kwik & Kool because they were so easy to create.

I simply used the large stamp inked in Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant & Always Artichoke and stamped over the laser cut flower.  I added a 3x3 piece of coordinating cardstock to the inside so that color would peek through the front.   I then used my small and large oval punches for the "For You" sentiment, mounted them on two Stampin' Dimensionals, and added the bling in the center.  Voilà!  my "Fresh Cut" bouquet was complete. 

One perk of being a demonstrator is the ability to pre-order new releases before anyone else can.  I ordered my set and notes the very day Stampin' Up! announced their availability.
